Another product that is on the top of my list from the Shop MAC Cook MAC collection was the Optimistic Orange Cremeblend Blush. I missed out when it first came out in the Lillyland collection. So this time I caved and got it. They also repromoted Florida, which I did get from MAC warehouse sale =D, and I will be reviewing this shade as well.
Contrary to what the shades I picked for the Kissable Lipcolours, these Cremeblend blushes that I picked up are rather vibrant or bold...

Florida is also quite neon in the pan, but a neon fuchsia instead.

Both colours have the same formula, same pigmentation. They look really bright in the pan. So you'd surprised if you swatch it in person, because it's really anything you want it to be...

As you can see from the swatches, they can be worn really boldly, or sheered out for a more natural finish. Because of its emollient texture, these Cremeblend Blushes are very blendable. And you can build up the product to achieve a bolder look as well.
They dry to a cream-to-powder finish, which doesn't feel heavy on the skin. They also make great bases for blushes with similar colours. Using a cream blush underneath a powder blush is a simple way to keep your make up last longer (by layering). On my oily skin, I just know these won't last till the end of the day if I wear them alone. I actually have not tried wearing them alone, because, like I said, I have oily skin. But I just powder it down with translucent powder to preserve its colour.

I like to use a synthetic brush to apply these blushes. I find that with natural hair brushes, the bristles sometimes got "attracted" to the cream and break and it just gets really messy. With my Joie-De-Vivre Cremeblend Blush, I spent so much time picking the hair out, never again! I have also applied it with my fingers, but since it stains my fingers, I try not to do that.
The packaging is like your normal MAC blushes, which is a good size for a regular blush brush to reach. Plus the special case is very cute and colourful, so I have no complaints =).

So this concludes my haulage from Shop MAC Cook MAC collection! MAC Cremeblend Blush is my favourite cream blush formula, yet. I just love how you can sheer the colours out or build them up as you like. They have not-so-recently replaced the old blushcremes and became permanent. So far, I have tried samples of Something Special and So Sweet, So Easy, all of them seem to be consistent with their pigmentation, longevity, and buildability (LOL). I highly recommend them, the LE ones AND the permanent ones. I am really looking forward to rock Optimistic Orange in the Spring because of the Tangerine Tango trend =).

ReplyDeleteoh I know what you mean. I usually use a synthetic brush to apply them, and if they went to bold or not well blending, I'll use my foundation brush to blend it since there will still be some foundation left to help smooth it out =)
